The FMC offers access to an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check.
The check is for those who have full FMC Accreditation and are either already child-inclusive mediators, or who are about to complete an approved 3-day child-inclusive mediation course.
The FMC uses a government approved body, to carry out the enhanced DBS check including the children’s barred list.
You will be required to submit documentation as part of an online ID check. Details of this can be found here

Please note, at present there is no need to send your DBS certificate or details of it to the FMC. If, as is likely, the FMC does introduce a requirement for child-inclusive mediators to have a DBS check, we will contact you and tell you where and when the certificate should be sent. When you receive the certificate from the DBS, please therefore ensure you keep it safe.
